This commitment was followed by significant product innovations including colour-coded filaments (1989) and fully coloured bodies (2000).
From then, the introduction of our microfibre concept (2006), award-winning ergonomic handles (2009) and the condensation squeegee (2011) illustrate our continued innovations. Over the years, Vikan have worked hard to make cleaning simpler, easier and more effective.
The needs of the end user, in premises where there are heavy demands on hygiene and cleanliness, is the driver for Vikan’s product innovation. For example, Vikan’s range of durable microfibre and colour-coded tools have been developed in close collaboration with healthcare and food customers, respectively, as they strive to better their cleaning performance, improve standards of hygiene, and eliminate microbial and cross-contamination issues.
All Vikan’s products are easy to clean and ergonomically designed to ensure efficiency. The tools are fully-moulded and quick drying to reduce the potential for microbial growth and accumulation, and are heat and chemical resistant to facilitate microbe removal.
At the 2006 German Design Awards, the International Forum Design GmbH honoured the Vikan bucket’s unique functionality and design with the IF Product Design Award.
Vikan’s ‘superbly adjustable’ ergonomic handle won the prestigious Purus Award for outstanding design innovation in cleaning equipment at the 2009 CMS (Cleaning. Management. Services.) International Trade Fair and Congress.
Most recently, Vikan’s innovative condensation squeegee was a finalist in the Hygiene Solutions category of the 2012 Food Processing Awards and their latest innovation, Ultra Safe Technology, delivers a breakthrough in brushware.
