I am delighted to share some exciting news with you. We are pleased to announce a strategic development that enables Wells to continue to grow while maintaining our commitment to deliver industry‐leading hygiene and food safety products that help our customers meet the distinct challenges of the food and beverage industry.

Effective 31 August 2023, Vikan has acquired Wells Australia & Wells New Zealand and became our new parent company. Headquartered in Skive, Denmark, Vikan is the global leader in professional colour coded cleaning and food handling equipment, tools and systems for more than 125 years, setting the standard for effective and durable cleaning tools, along with advanced services.

Wells, a 95-year-old family business, has for more than 50 years been Vikan’s strategic distribution partner in Australia, and more recently New Zealand. It has been a privilege for us to distribute Vikan’s range of hygiene, food handling and associated cleaning equipment alongside our other product lines, including metal-detectable products and our innovative 5S shadow boards and storage solutions. Our commitment to providing comprehensive sales support and timely delivery across Australia and New Zealand remains our priority. As part of the Vikan family of companies, we will have continued access to unrivaled resources, industry expertise and an unwavering commitment to innovation.

As we step into this new chapter as part of the Vikan Group, we embark on an exciting journey. We have made substantial investments in a new state-of-the-art Head Office and warehouse in Melbourne that will accommodate our expansion and elevate the quality of customer service we provide.

It is important to emphasise that this acquisition will in no way disrupt our daily operations. Wells will continue to be managed by our dedicated existing team, of highly experienced and committed people, ensuring seamless continuity of service and support for all our customers across Australia and New Zealand.

With Vikan’s backing, we are exceptionally well-positioned to navigate the ever-evolving food and beverage industry landscape and supply chain. This strategic move enhances the future success of Wells, strengthening our commitment to our valued customers, suppliers and devoted employees.
